Got game?
Youth and Teen Leagues
No one tops our legacy.
Did you know that Basketball was invented by the Y in 1891 at the International YMCA Training School? Dr. James Naismith was given the challenge of creating a game that could be played indoors during the cold winter months. Hanging simple peach baskets and using a soccer ball, Naismith created the game of basketball and wrote the first 13 rules of the game.
More than just the game.
Sportsmanship and values are key components of this league. Every game starts with our YMCA Sports Pledge and ends with a handshake. To top it all off, the end of season Championship Team receives a Champions T-Shirts!
Get involved, build community.
Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as a volunteer in the program - as well as being their kid's greatest fan.

Basketball Camp
July 8th-12th, 2024
Coach Townsley brings over 25 years of professional instruction experience, has served over 6,500 clinics worldwide and has worked with players from ages 4 to NBA professionals. "We want you to have the chance to learn professional skills, at an easy to understand level. You won't want to miss this opportunity to share in the basketball experience of the Greater Dayton YMCA's Summer Camp. In addition, we look forward to having each participant join us at Banker's Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, on the home court of the Indiana Pacers and Fever basketball."
The camp will be visiting the Indiana Pacers Facility, Banker's Life Fieldhouse, on the last day of camp. During this trip, the campers will tour the facility and play games on the same court where the Pacers play their games. In addition, the campers will attend an Indiana Fever game that evening.
