Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

Select your program of choice from the Youth Sports home page to find available age groups and locations or stop by your preferred branch's front desk.

Do you provide scholarships?

Yes! Thanks to thoughtful donations and contributions from our community to the YMCA's Annual Campaign, financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Applications are available at the front desk of your preferred branch.

Who can play?

Children of all skill levels. YMCA sports leagues are open to boys and girls of various ages. Children do not need to have a YMCA membership to participate.

I would like to make a special request.

Great! You can make your request in the "Special Requests" field of the registration form or you can contact the Sports Director at your preferred branch. You may request a specific coach, teammate, practice night, or practice time. While we do our best to honor every request, please understand we cannot guarantee that all requests will or can be accommodated. Refunds are not available for unfulfilled requests.

When are practices and games?

Specific practice and game times vary based on location. However, most teams will practice once per week, Monday-Friday, in the evenings for no longer than one hour. Games are typically held on Saturdays between 8:00am-6:00pm, however they may also be played on a weeknight if necessary. Please contact your preferred branch for their specific schedule.

How many games will we play?

Divisions for ages 3-6 are scheduled a minimum of eight regular season games. Divisions for ages 7-18 are scheduled a minimum of seven regular season games plus one end-of-season tournament game. More games may be played if a team continues to win in tournament play. Sometimes there will be double headers or bye weeks due to an odd number of teams in the division or gym/field availability.

What is Playerspace?

Playerspace is our league management system. It allows us to create rosters, add coaches, make schedules, and communicate with ease. After your child is registered, you will be able to create a username and password. From there, Playerspace becomes your number one source of information and communication for your child's sports season including schedule changes, weather updates, and more.

I would like to be a coach. What do I need to do?

First and foremost, we thank you for your willingness to volunteer! Please visit our Youth Sports home page and simply apply to coach and contact the Sports Director at your preferred branch.
