Volunteer of the Year Award Presented to Kettering Supporter

29 April 2019

[Miami Valley, OH 4/14/19] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Megan Redmond as the South YMCA volunteer of the year.

Megan, her husband Joe and their 4 children Hannah, Jack and the twins Piper and Charlotte (otherwise known as Chuckie and Pipes) have been members of the South Y for over 6 years now.

Megan has volunteered at multiple branches during her time, but it was in 2017 that she began volunteering at the South Y as its Annual Campaign Chair. Megan has spent countless hours meeting with other board members, local businesses and most of all with other members and staff telling her Y story and championing the South Y and its mission. She considers the Y her “Happy Place” and her time and commitment to the South Y is a blessing to us and those the campaign supports.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 148th Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $26,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and LIVESTRONG at the Y program. The night consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
