The Board of Directors of the Auglaize-Mercer Counties Family Y, Inc. announced today that the Y has reached an agreement with the YMCA of Greater Dayton to provide management services to the local association. The agreement, which will make the most of the Y’s resources will not only include executive leadership but will also include other significant management resources such as human resource development, financial development, program development, marketing and property management.
In announcing the decision, Christine Purdy, President of the Board of Directors of the Auglaize-Mercer Counties Family Y stated, “This partnership will provide the expertise and resource necessary to move our Y to the next level in serving our members and communities. This is a strategy which has been successfully implemented by many Y’s across the country. We were impressed by Dale Brunner, Dayton’s CEO, for his leadership and experience with similar Y agreements and decided that this is the best course for our Y.”
The Auglaize-Mercer Counties Family Y also pursued a nationwide CEO search to meet its leadership needs but was unanimous in its decision to pursue the partnership with the Dayton Y. The new agreement will begin August 1, 2018, at which time Lowell Nees, current Interim CEO will return to retirement. The current Board of Directors led by Ms. Purdy will continue in their current role.
