Group X Commitment Card Challenge Deadline Approaching

Getting back to basics with pushups

By now, the Group X Commitment Card Challenge is almost over.  The goal is to complete 12 group fitness classes at the Y.  Challengers, if you haven’t already, try changing up a few classes from your regulars.  You don’t have to commit to the new class regularly, but this is a great opportunity to explore something different.  Ever tried Cardio Kick, Zumba, or TRX? .  You may find that you enjoy it and want to continue, or keep it as an option when you need that spark.  Or, you may find that you don’t like it, but is exercising, burning calories, and meeting new people such a bad way to find out you don’t like something?  If you weren't able to participate this time, try completing what you can for the experience and watch for the next challenge.

This year’s prize for completing the Group X Commitment Card Challenge is a Y reusable bag, great for a quick go-bag for future visits. Challengers who fill a card are also entered into a raffle for a larger prize.  Last year's prize was a pair of earbuds, a gym-goer's necessity.  I wonder what goodness the Y has in store for this year's challengers?

Of course the invaluable prize is completing your commitment to yourself.  Completing the challenge means you're eligible for prizes and you took steps toward starting or maintaining a lifestyle of wellness.

Just learned about the Group X Commitment Card Challenge?  Since the challenge is to attend 12 group fitness classes, you may not have enough time to complete it in a healthy way.  Start it anyway, knowing you’re kickstarting fitness goals, which makes you a winner anyway.  Please don’t risk injury from overtraining, but, let's say there's only time to take 6 classes; sign up, take the classes, and know that, prize or not, you're working toward a healthier lifestyle.
