Imagine your child’s summer day filled with playing outdoors with friends, creating artwork and learning through STEM activities, swimming, field trips and more! These are the kinds of activities they will enjoy while participating in the Dayton YMCA’s summer day camps offered at eight locations throughout the Dayton area.

Summer day camps at the Y are open to children ages 5-12 (ages vary by location). Campers enjoy weekly themes allowing them to practice leadership and critical thinking skills while being part of a team and developing lifelong friendships. They’ll also gain an understanding of the YMCA’s character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

The cost for each week of camp begins at $147 a week (before and after care is additional). Financial assistance is available for those who need it.

To get started, simply fill out this registration form and a YMCA day camp staff member will contact you within 24 business hours with additional information.

If you’re interested in an overnight camp experience for your child, Camp Kern offers children ages 5-16 years old the experience of a lifetime.

Camp Kern, which is situated on 485 acres in the Little Miami River Valley of Southwestern Ohio, offers programs for campers with activities specifically designed for each age range, including zip lines, horseback riding, archery, campfires, arts and crafts, swimming and so much more.

While at camp, children gain independence as they decide what activity they want to do, what they want to eat, and who they want to hang out with. They’ll be exposed to cultural and socioeconomic diversity as campers and staff come from around the world. In addition, they’ll build character by experiencing a range of human emotions such as homesickness, team work, frustrations, success, friendships…the list goes on and on!

All children are welcome at Camp Kern. To make camp more affordable, you can arrange payment plans and financial assistance is available. For more information, call Loretta at (513) 932-3756.

Summer can be a busy time for many families with vacations, sporting activities, exploration of local attractions, and days spent at the pool. While these activities are wonderful, Dayton YMCA day camps and Camp Kern provide memories that are hard to find elsewhere.
