The YMCA of Greater Dayton launches initiative to protect children from abuse.

[Miami Valley, 10.30.20] – Today The YMCA of Greater Dayton launched an initiative at their 10 branch locations, their 42 child care centers and residential YMCA Camp Kern to encourage an atmosphere of transparency and safety for all children. This initiative is known as “Know. See. Respond.” and allows members, volunteers, staff and all adults in their facilities to report inappropriate behavior toward children. In all locations, there are posters with a QR code so that anyone can easily scan and fill out a report on the spot. Anonymous reporting is available. Greater Dayton has also launched a new webpage geared toward Child Sexual Abuse Prevention which includes child abuse resources for victims, further education on signs and symptoms of abuse, and a link to report abuse at their locations. 

The YMCA is kicking off their initiative after participating in ‘5 Days of Action’, a week on social media to raise awareness and inspire adults to take action to protect children from sexual abuse.
