July Red Cross Lifeguard Course
Become certified and ready to respond in aquatic emergencies with the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course at the YMCA. This comprehensive training program combines online learning, classroom instruction and hands-on water practice to prepare participants with the skills needed to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies in and around the water.
Participants will learn essential lifeguarding techniques including water rescues, surveillance skills, CPR, AED use and first aid for adults, children and infants. Upon successful completion, participants will earn nationally recognized certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED, qualifying them to work at pools across the United States.
A prerequisite competency swim test is required prior to participation, and attendance at all scheduled sessions is mandatory. This course is ideal for individuals interested in lifeguarding, aquatics leadership or building lifesaving skills in a supportive and professional environment.
