New Teen Center Opens At The Coffman YMCA
NEW TEEN CENTER OPENS AT THE COFFMAN YMCA

The Coffman YMCA in Springboro has opened a Teen Center to provide 6th – 8th grade students a designated place within the existing YMCA building to enjoy recreational interaction with other students. The Teen Center, which is located in the family center near the YMCA Aerobics Room, is open Monday-Friday from 3 – 6 pm. This dedicated space provides room for students to enjoy pool, ping pong, mini basketball (pop-a-shot game), board games, video games and more. The Teen Center also has computer capability for students to complete homework and/or to utilize the internet.
Dedicated YMCA Volunteers who have gone through a thorough interview and screening process provide supervision and support to the students who utilize the Teen Center. This new effort is being directly spearheaded through the Coffman Family YMCA Christian Emphasis Committee. David Thompson, Group VP and Director of the Coffman Family YMCA stated “We are so pleased to be able to open this space for the young teens of our community to use. The volunteers on our Advisory Board, Christian Emphasis Committee and others were instrumental in making this vision a reality.”
