September Lifeguard Course
Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Build lifesaving skills and prepare to make a difference in and around the water.
Become a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program at the Kleptz YMCA. This comprehensive course combines online learning, classroom instruction and hands-on water practice to prepare participants to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies.
Participants will develop essential skills in water rescue, surveillance, CPR, AED use and first aid for adults, children and infants, while learning the importance of teamwork, communication and creating a safe aquatic environment.
Upon successful completion, participants earn nationally recognized American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED, preparing them for lifeguarding opportunities at pools across the country.
Dates & Times:
Friday, September 18 | 5–10 p.m.
Saturday, September 19 | 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Sunday, September 20 | 8 a.m.–2 p.m.

Cost: $250–$300
Before You Register
Participants must complete a lifeguard competency swim before the course and demonstrate the required swimming, treading water and rescue skills. Participants younger than 18 must have parental consent.
Attendance at all scheduled class sessions is required.
