The YMCA of Greater Dayton and the Downtown YMCA are proud to present the Y-Way 5K Walk & Run, benefiting the Downtown YMCA Annual Campaign. Through the Annual Campaign, we are able to provide scholarships to children, individuals, and families, offer health and wellness programming to our communities, and bring the Y's mission to those who need it the most. And you can help us make the Y a place for everyone!

Lace up your running shoes and aim for a photo finish in the heart of historic Downtown Dayton, Ohio. With a stunning course tracing the banks of the rushing Great Miami River, you can go for the gold or spend time connecting with your friends, community members, and fellow runners.

BIB PICKUP

Bib Pickup Dates/Times:

  • Thursday, April 16th | 4:00 PM-7:00 PM - The Downtown Dayton YMCA (316 N. Wilkinson Street Dayton, OH 45402)
  • Friday, April 17th | 4:00 PM-7:00 PM - The Downtown Dayton YMCA (316 N. Wilkinson Street Dayton, OH 45402)
  • Saturday, April 18th (Race Day)| 6:30 AM-7:50 AM - The Downtown Dayton YMCA (316 N. Wilkinson Street Dayton, OH 45402)

Race starts at 8:30 AM SHARP! The Start Line is approximately a 5-minute walk from the Bib Pickup location at the Downtown Dayton YMCA!

Parking is located in and around the race site, so come early!

PICKUP PROCESS

  1. Bib Pickup (Downtown Dayton YMCA): This is the first place you need to go. Bibs will be sorted alphabetically by your last name.
    1. The only thing you need in order to run the race is your bib. All racers will be CHIPPED and TIMED.
  2. T-Shirt Pickup (Downtown Dayton YMCA): Show the person at the table your bib so that they can verify the t-shirt size you registered for. Everyone will receive a shirt! They will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. If we run out of the size you registered for we will mail you your shirt after the race.

START LINE

The Start and Finish Line will be on the river running trail located off of Liberty Street behind CODE Credit Union. The Start and Finish Line area are located within a 5-7 minute walk from the Downtown Dayton YMCA. Please allow extra time to arrive at the Start and Finish Line area if you are picking up your bib and race packet the morning of the race (Saturday, April 18th).

FAQ
When does the race start?

5K (Runners and Walkers) will start together at 8:30am sharp. We ask that walkers start in the back in the designated walkers section.

Are strollers allowed?

Running Strollers are permitted. Please be mindful of your starting position. 

Is the race chip timed?

The race will be chip timed. Your chip will be attached to your bib. KeySports will be managing all timing and results.

Where can I park?

Race day parking will be available at CODE Credit Union (355 W Monument Ave, Dayton, OH 45402). This lot has direct access to the Start/Finish line area for the race.

If you are picking up your bib and race packet on Saturday, this parking lot is a 5-7 minute walk from the registration table at the Downtown YMCA (316 N Wilkinson St, Dayton, OH 45402).

Where are restrooms located?

Restrooms will be available inside the Downtown Dayton YMCA in the lobby as early as 6:30am prior to the race.

Are registrations refundable?

Registrations are non-refundable.

Can I pick up someone else's bib?

Yes! Just provide their name & we will make a note in our system that you picked up on their behalf. 

How can I view results?

We will announce overall Male and Female winners and Male and Female winners from individual age groups after the conclusion of the race. All racer results will be sent to your email and posted on the race website by KeySports.
