Learn Skills, Workout at Home with New YMCA360 App

Dayton YMCA members, including my family, have received a couple emails recently announcing a new program the Y is offering online – YMCA360.

Life has been busy, as I’m sure it has for many of you, and admittedly, I quickly scanned the emails and thought, “I’ll check this out later.” Later finally came and let me tell you, I wish I had checked it out sooner!

I expected to find a few workouts and videos related to fitness – and I did. Most classes are about 30 minutes long – a great length to fit in a quick workout at home, while traveling or wherever you may be. There are videos for circuit training, lower body strength, HIIT, power kick, meditation and more. There are also workouts specifically targeted to youth. In addition, youth can learn basic skills for a variety of sports, such as gymnastics, swimming, basketball, football, and power sports.

What I wasn’t expecting to find was on-demand videos offering information from camp counselors, cooking, art, STEM activities and so much more! What a wonderful way to spend some quality time with the kiddos in your life!

This time of year seems to be even busier for many with multiple holidays, traveling, gatherings and all the things that keep us on the go. I know I personally tend to make more excuses for missing my favorite group fitness classes when my schedule is full. But the Y is making it more challenging for me to make those excuses by giving me (and all YMCA members) access wherever I am to hundreds of exercise and wellness videos on-demand. There are even live streaming classes offered at various times in an effort to accommodate your busy lifestyle!

You can access it from just about anywhere – on mobile devices, Apple TV and Roku TV.

While it’s wonderful to see your smiling faces at one of the Dayton Ys, this is a great alternative for when you can’t make it into the facility. This is just one more benefit to being a YMCA member as this amazing program is FREE with your membership!
