Why Try Personal Training

It's a new year and getting in better shape is a goal set by many of us this during this season. Have you ever been in a gym during January? The hustle and bustle there is about like the shopping centers were just weeks earlier. Stick with it a few months and you’ll likely notice that number dwindling. Maybe it’s time we do things a little different and simply say “You’re hired” to a personal trainer. Here are some reasons this may be the best choice for you.

  • Personal trainers urge you to work harder than you might do on your own. They will push you to complete those extra steps, add the 10 extra pounds to your barbell, and even challenge you to learn a new floor exercise alongside them. And you know what this ultimately does? It allows you to get to your initial goals in an expediated manner and set more challenging ones that take you further than you thought you were capable of. The motivation they provide coupled with your boost in confidence – PRICELESS!
  • Plateaus are like kryptonite for those of us in the gym. They happen to us all and can quickly lead to frustration that has us in that dwindling number mentioned above. A personal trainer has experience with and understands those times. They will take those opportunities to evaluate where you’ve been, where you are, and know the exact boost needed to help you break through. This far exceeds the “one size fits all” plan many of us gravitate to.
  • Varied workouts will be the goal of most personal trainers who have an abundance of health and fitness knowledge. They have usually studied anatomy or physiology and have a keen understanding of how the body works. As they get to know you, individualized training plans will be developed utilizing equipment and other resources that continually keep things fun and interesting. Gym burnout is often then avoided and that’s a win for you!
  • A personal trainer will help you improve overall technique. Many people show up at the gym and start using equipment. I’ve been there, trying to read and fully understand the instructions posted on the side of the machine and then feeling like I totally nailed it. Moments later, I see someone else using that same equipment and think to myself … oh, that’s how you do it! A personal trainer would have helped me with that and ensured I didn’t incur and injury from improper technique. Better technique also equates to more effective training where you focus on specific muscle groups, helping achieve your fitness objectives.
  • Accountability keeps us focused and committed. Having a partner, a personal trainer, ensures you aren’t alone on the journey. We all know it’s easy to skip a workout when it’s just us heading out. However, when working alongside someone, there’s a good reason to be consistent in showing up. If you have other goals set with your trainer and you are checking in periodically, you will naturally want to see you are tracking towards them. The perseverance developed will take your fitness plans, and your life, to new levels.

As we move into 2023, there’s many things we can choose to invest in. Instead of crypto currency or the stock market, make this the year you make a positive investment in YOU … your health and fitness. Get started now on our personal training inquiry page.
