  • Dayton YMCA opens Trotwood center

    TROTWOOD | The YMCA of Greater Dayton opened its second YMCA Neighborhood Development Center in Trotwood on Oct. 2.

    The new facility at 506 E. Main St. is a partnership between the YMCA and Cross Point United Methodist Church.

    The celebration attracted about 200 Trotwood residents.

    Oct. 2 was also the Worldwide Day of Play sponsored by Nickelodeon and the YMCA.

    The Coffman Family YMCA is making a big push to help others while involving the Springboro Community.

    The nursery is collecting for those in need, and the fitness staff is recognizing a special person.

    The entire month of October the YMCA Nursery, as well as the 4 to 6 Program and the 6 to 12 Program, have been working to raise money and raise the spirits of the children in the Port Charlotte Middle School in Port Charlotte, Florida, which was devastated by Hurricane Charley.

    The Huber Heights YMCA will begin accepting applications for membership on Monday, Nov. 15.

    A Membership Sales Trailer will be set up in front of the Huber Heights YMCA, located at 7251 Shull Road. While the YMCA is not scheduled to open until Feb. 2005, this trailer will provide a temporary membership sales office with the staff, equipment and supplies needed for the community to obtain memberships.
