The YMCA of Greater Dayton announced today that it will offer one month of free membership from November 4th–30th to any federal employee or contractor furloughed as a result of the ongoing government shutdown.

The offer applies to all 12 YMCA of Greater Dayton branches and the Springfield YMCA, providing affected individuals and families access to wellness programs, fitness facilities, group classes, and community connection during this uncertain time.

The YMCA of Greater Dayton is proud to announce plans to reopen the Versailles YMCA in late 2025, marking a new chapter of community health, wellness, and connection in the heart of Darke County.

After the Versailles YMCA closed in August 2025 due to financial hardship, community members refused to let their local Y disappear. The Save the Versailles Y Committee, working closely with the Ohio YMCA Alliance, rallied to preserve the facility and find a strong partner to ensure its long-term success.
