Junior Leadership of Dayton Applications Now Being Accepted

Dayton, Ohio, 02/28/11 – Applications are now being accepted for the YMCA Junior Leadership Dayton Class of 2011-2012. This important leadership program brings together high school juniors from 41 schools throughout the Dayton community and has “graduated” 465 students over the past 10 years.  The YMCA of Greater Dayton, Wright State University, The Dayton Foundation, The Roy & Patricia Begley Foundation and the Holiday Inn Dayton Mall partner together to provide this experience to young people.

Through the program, students have the opportunity to work with adult leaders in our community focusing on leadership skills, citizenship/government, media/communications, community issues, community service and diversity.
We are seeking youth with potential leadership ability and an expressed interest in understanding and serving the community. Students from all public, parochial and private schools throughout the Miami Valley who will be entering their junior year in the Fall of 2011 are eligible.

Students will be interviewed by a Selection Committee in May 2011 and 40 will be selected to be a part of the 2011-2012 JLD Class. 3 college credit hours from Wright State University are received upon completion of the program.
The application deadline is April 1, 2011.
