November 24, 2012All the planning and hard work that went into the Huber Heights Aquatic Center paid off.
Huber Heights City Council on Monday was presented with a check for more than $114,000 -- all profits from the 2012 swim season.
This year, more than 86,000 people visited the center and 85 seasonal jobs were created. City leaders say the success has a lot to do with the diverse attractions, and the fantastic summer heat.

11/16/12WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - An internationally-known author traveled halfway around the world to visit a Warren County YMCA camp.
Camp Kern hosts several literary-themed summer camps, including week-long sessions based on the "Ranger's Apprentice" series from Australia.
"From the moment the kids check in, through the whole seven days and six nights of camp, they are in that world of the book," said Executive Director Jeff Merhig.

10/27/12The Huber Heights pink fire engine was on display at the Warrior Soccer Fall Classic at the Warrior Soccer Complex on Fishburg Road Saturday to promote awareness for breast cancer.
To date, the pink fire truck has raised over $40,000 to support breast cancer research.
The fully functional pink truck made its debut earlier this month at the Huber Heights Fire Department open house.

FAIRBORN -- Thirty preschoolers got a big surprise Friday when they got to meet some of their favorite Disney characters.Mister and Mrs. Incredible showed up at the Fairborn YMCA to lead a morning of fitness fun. Each child also received ticket vouchers for the Disney On Ice performance this weekend at the Nutter Center.

10/17/12The second annual Trunk or Treat event will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the West Carrollton branch of the YMCA, 900 S. Alex Road, in West Carrollton.
A section of the parking lot will closed for participants, and families can park there. Children will trick or treat among the cars in the closed section. YMCA staff members will participate by dressing up and decorating their cars.
