On Monday, February 22nd, Sam Lopez, Child Care Director at the Kleptz YMCA, was presented with a Helping Heart Award from the Northmont City Schools for her and her YMCA staff’s outstanding support and generous cooperation to the youth in the Northmont community.

New Management Agreement Provides Stability, Growth Opportunities
Effective January 1, 2021, the Auglaize/Mercer YMCA (AMFY) will merge with the Greater Dayton YMCA.
This new structure provides the North and South branch YMCAs with opportunities to serve the community and strengthen the long-term stability for both branches. The Grand Lake Health and Premier Health have invested into these locations to bring further health and wellness into these communities. The names of the North and South YMCA’s will be changed to the Grand Lake Health/Premier Health North and South YMCA’s.

The YMCA of Greater Dayton launches initiative to protect children from abuse.
[Miami Valley, 10.30.20] – Today The YMCA of Greater Dayton launched an initiative at their 10 branch locations, their 42 child care centers and residential YMCA Camp Kern to encourage an atmosphere of transparency and safety for all children. This initiative is known as “Know. See. Respond.” and allows members, volunteers, staff and all adults in their facilities to report inappropriate behavior toward children. In all locations, there are posters with a QR code so that anyone can easily scan and fill out a report on the spot. Anonymous reporting is available.

Maimi Valley, 10.26.2020 – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is participating in the Five Days of Action, October 26-30, 2020. The Five Days of Action is a week designed to raise awareness and inspire adults to take action to protect children from sexual abuse.
